Rogue Trader Terminators: Imperial Fists

November 8th 2009 -

I’m a bad person,

I’m supposed to be painting up my Crusader(s) for the GT next weekend and instead I end up painting a Rogue Trader Terminator!
I pictured the army the other week, and they’ve been sat taunting me since.

I decided to go for Imperial Fists; mainly because Yellow is a pain to paint, and I like bright colours, also it’d be good practice trying to improve my accuracy and hand-to-eye co-ordination due to the way I painted it.

Colours were pretty simple for the Yellow:

– Undercoat Grey
– Wash with Badab Black
– Paint the armour sections Iyanden Darksun
– Wash with Devlan Mud
– Add a few thin layers of yellow until you have a good yellow
– Highlight with Bleached Bone
– Highlight with White

Also, just to show the size difference between the Mark 3a’s and the current Mark 3c’s

    Looks good.
Why is yellow hard to paint though?
    Same reason red is?

I just mount the old terminators on 20 MM bases on top of a 40 MM base ... fill the 40 MM base accordingly so it matches lvl wise with the 20 and bada bing. Very hard to notice the difference across the table. With AOBR termies somewhat cheap and old termies being blown out on ebay still ... its a good time to add termies to your lists :)
  • Ah that's just too much effort, plus I'd have huge bases and it'd bug me!
All my 25mm bases were used up on the 44 stealers from space hulk too!
I had about 20 of the AoBR termies, got rid of them in the end as I wasn't going to use them.
The old metal termies still go for reasonable prices, usually more than what I'm willing to pay, but meh, I own majority of all the different varieties!
