Bloody Bloodthirster! Painting!

November 23rd 2009 -

Painting has begun on this old project!
You can see the construction of this guy by clicking on the World Eaters page under Categories where all the World Eater posts are listed.

Right, pictures!

I started with a Grey undercoat, next was a generous wash of Badab black.
I painted all the flesh with thinned Mechrite Red, washed with Leviathan Purple, I then layered/streaked with Blood Red and Orange, then thinned streaks of Bleached Bone. Next up was a generous wash of Devlan Mud, once this had dried I washed Leviathan Purple into the recesses and over the veins.
The wings were just done with washes, from the above stages, so Badab black, Purple, devlan mud. I added an additional layer of Badab black to darken them a bit more, then Leviathan Purple on the edges and recesses.

  • Very interesting... I have a few of these guys to do paint up and I'm looking for a good "method" myself.
