Harlequin Diamonds Tutorial

I’m not a fan of the tiny tiny diamonds that are plastered all over the Harlequin models on the box and GW site. I didn’t want to exclude the diamonds from the scheme so instead I opted for larger diamonds on the cloaks of the harlequin models. I didn’t want to paint them by hand however …
I used a pair of pinking shears (craft scissors that cut zig zags in paper) to make a diamond mask out of a sticky label.
I sprayed the model black and then sprayed it grey from above. I then stuck the diamonds onto the model using tweezers where necessary and pressing them down flat with a cotton bud. I then sprayed the model a lighter grey from above and then peeled the mask off. To finish off the effect I used a false of black and two glazes of blue.
