TAU: The Five Day Army – Day 5 Stealth Suits

As I had a day to spare (and wanted to avoid tidying the awful mess I have made painting this army) I decided to boost the army to 1750 with the addition of a XV25 Stealth Team!

I didn’t want them brown. But I didn’t want them dark grey/black either. So I decided on both!

I tried to do a quick spin around of the team leader:

DONE. COMPLETE. FINISHED.
Now I have to tidy…

Awesome and inspiring achievement, Kudos to you!

Would love to see a tutorial on the way you did the blacklining as I’ve never attempted this before but am about to paint some Eldar vehicles.

    Cheers!

I got it from a Youtube video. I’ve linked it below
But basically you gloss the models with gloss varnish. Thin some oil paint with turps/white spirits, and then when you put the brush to the gap it sucks the paint off and shoots down the line (very technical! 😉 ) You can then use some turps on a cotton bud to wipe away any mistakes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2JurVVWLzY

Mr Davis, Good Evening. Can you please describe the process of achieving the finish as seen on the bases? A fantastic effort!!! Thanking you. Kind regards.

    Bases are VERY simple!
It’s the Blackfire Earth texture paint (or Skrag brown if you want to paint it over sand) with dark sand weathering powder brushed on. And that’s it! I stick some GW grass tufts (the set with the marine on) to them. The slate is slate. And it’s just the bare slate stuck on whilst the texture paint is wet.

    Cheers!

Good, Evening. Thanks for the info on doing the bases. I have always just used the “GW Sand”, but I much rather prefer the finish as seen on your models. Cheers.
